Project: Masjid-E-Hamza Mosque Location: Moseley, Birmingham Client: Thomas Vale Construction
C06
Overview
Thomas Vale Construction Ltd. awarded Woodfellas the contract for complete refurbishment of the carpentry and joinery works to this newly built Mosque in Moseley, Birmingham. The Mosque was an exciting project due to its unusual shape and size; it had been extended from an existing building with the idea of amalgamating both new and old together to form one prayer hall, classrooms for children, kitchen and eating facilities.
This was a highly complex project due to the vast amount of steel work inside the building. Thomas Vale's expert site staff Paul Davis and Neil Chapman worked closely with Woodfellas to solve various design and construction issues. Our joint client, Mohammed Iqbal was most accommodating help to overcome these difficulties. Not only did Woodfellas enjoy the friendliness and warm working relationship with the kind people of the Mosque, we also learned from Mohammed what a deep sense of pride the people have in this community project. The community had saved the monies over many years to provide the best for its young people. The humility shown to Woodfellas by Mohammed and his congregation will never be forgotten.
